CC2640: fail to using Smartrf Studio 7 to test RF

Can you show the full setup on smartRF studio?

Do you have another CC2640 to test packet TX and RX?

0. Connect the GND, RESET, TMS, TCK, TDO, TDI wires to our DTU.
1. Open SmartRF Studio 7 (here is 2.12.1).
2. Select the connected device CC2640 and double-click it.
3. Select RF Design Based On: "CC2650EM-4XS".
4. Click "Start".

Sometimes (very rare) it work normally.
The same steps will be work on LaunchPad kit CC2652R.

For cJTAG connectivity you can only use TCK, TMC, GND and RST.

HI Zell,

Do you have long cables connected here? if it works sometimes this points to a signal integrity issue. are you using the XDS 110 form one of the LP and connecting to the devices. Can you show a picture of what this looks like so that we can better see the setup. Normally if it works occasionally, then its a signal integrity issue. However once its running, we would expect that packets to be sent and received accordingly.

The cables are 20cm. I could try shorter cable to check if it work.
Yes. I use XDS 110 to connect to our devices as the picture.
You are right. It work smoothly to switch other function once its running.
The response of SmartRF Studio will be slow if it is fail. For example, it may costs at least 5~6 seconds to stop it.

I see that the status for cmd_fs is 0xbad0 indicating that something is not working as it should on the HW side.
