BLE Demo Programs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

Hello, I am at a loss. I using the CC2540 BLE Mini Dev Kit. I have worked through all the examples in the TI user's manual. Now, I am trying to work through the BLE Sample App programs. I can program the key fob with the first demo (Blood Pressure Sensor). Discovery and connection work. How do I enable simulated blood pressure measurfement? How do I display the data collected? A push in the right direction would be helpful. Thanks - JSP

  • Hello,

The BP and Thermomter can be a little tricky as they are setup to send a measurement and disconnect.  If you want to use BTool to drive it manually, this will require you to bond each time, as the BPM spec requires encrypted link.  There is also a Health Demo PC GUI in the TI wiki at

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:BluetoothLE

The application guide should describe some of the button actions.

Basically, pressing the button will cause the keyFob to start advertising that it is in the process of taking  a measurement. If a central device connects, then and authenticates, then the keyFob will send its data over.  If no connection takes place, then the measurement will be stores and the keyFob willgo back to sleep.

  • Greg, thank you for the reply. I stillneed further help to get this to work. I down loaded the binary files and installed them. I programmed the indicated hex files into the FOB and Dongle. I run  Health Demo and "connect" to the Dongle without errors. The FOB is not auto connecting to the Dongle. I un-check auto connect and manually input DBAddr: "06:05:04:03:02:01". Still "not connected" on both tabs. I reprogrammed both Dongle and FOB but this time I did a hex file compare on the FOB after it was programmed. I get an error: "CC2540-ID3529: error in hex file verification". Is this why I cannot connect to the FOB? I tried pushing buttons to preform immediate data transfer but without change. What information do I need to provide to help obtain an answer and learn how to solve this myself? Thanks in advance. - JSP

  • Did I make a mistake by asking additional questions inside this thread? I know these are "simple" questions but I am trying to figure this out... Thanks for any help! JSP
