CC2650 LaunchPad documentation & code examples

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650, LAUNCHXL-CC2650, CC2650EM-7ID-RD

Hi all, I just got my CC2650 LaunchPad rev 1.1.

I was wondering if there was any documentation for this platform other than .

I am looking to build a project with the CC2650 and would like to get started with at least some board files. It would be great if TI released the source code for the demo application as I suppose it already has all the drivers and examples to access the peripherals on the board. (serial flash, buttons, leds)

The schematic for the LaunchPad rev 1.1 would also be useful in order to implement a basic custom PCB design with the same configuration.

I would like to add that I was surprised to receive a LaunchPad which is not exactly the same as the image on the store. I first thought I wouldn't be able to program the SensorTag with the LaunchPad debugger as the 5x2 pin connector is different to the one on the store image. I then found this wiki page which makes it clear it is possible with the same cable/connector.

Thanks!

  • Hi there,

We are currently ramping up our LaunchPad platform so please excuse the lack of information at this time. I can say that our LaunchPad is based on our evaluation module designs for which you can find schmatic and layout files online here: http://www.ti.com/tool/cc2650em-7id-rd

If you would like a pinout of the launchpad, that can be found in the quick start guide: www.ti.com/.../swru451.pdf

The image in the store is dated, (you'll notice it says 1.0 on it) the LaunchPads in mass production are the v1.1s, which is the one you have. I can confirm that you can program a sensortag using the on board XDS110 from the LP, as the above wiki states.

I cannot comment as to the release of the resident source code at this time, but I can say that you should expect a board file, and some updated examples (i.e. SimpleBLEPeripheral) that use the LP on the TI Github by early next week. There will also be a porting guide on how to move your existing BLEv2.1 projects to the LP.
