Greetings,

I am using a CC2531 USB and it works fine with the older packet sniffer.

I downloaded the smart rf sniffer agent but it doesn't find my device.

My device shows up in the device mgr. under Cebal controlled devices.

I am using Windows 10.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alternatively, you can download and install SmartRF Studio 7 (SMARTRFTM-STUDIO).

Both of these will get you the Win10 CEBAL driver.

Is this a different driver than the one that works with the older RF sniffer? My machine works with that older one.

I downloaded the STUDIO and my sniffer still won't find my device.

Studio tells me I have no connected devices.

Can you post a full screen shot of the failure? You've opened this post in the BLE forum so I assume you are sniffing for BLE packets, but CC2531 is referenced. Can you clarify on the technology?

Above is the dongle showing up.

I'm actually wanting to sniff Zigbee packets.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Let me ring in our Zigbee support.

Note that SmartRF Studio 7 requires a JTAG connection to the MCU and will not work over the dongle's USB connection. My suggestion to install that tool was purely for the purposes of obtaining the latest CEBAL driver.

Hi Edd,

PACKET-SNIFFER 2 only supports the CC2650/2 LaunchPads, you will need to use the original Packet Sniffer program if you intend to use the CC2531 Dongle. dev.ti.com/.../dev_env.html
