CC2650MODA: Which hex file to load to CCMODA2650

HI,

I am using MSP432p401R and BOOSTXL-CC2650MA development boards with the SimpleLink MSP432p4 SDK 2.10.00.14 and SimpleLink SDK BLE Plugin 1.40.00.42.

I am going through the SimpleLink MSP432 SDK Bluetooth Plugin / SNP Fundamentals tutorial. I need to load the SNP firmware into the CC2650MODA module. I found 4 different hex files in C:\ti\simplelink_sdk_ble_plugin_1_40_00_42\source\ti\snp\cc2650:

simple_np_cc2650bp_uart_pm_sbl_2_02_01_18a_merge.hex

simple_np_cc2650bp_uart_pm_xsbl_2_02_01_18a_merge.hex

simple_np_cc2650bp_uart_xpm_sbl_2_02_01_18a_merge.hex

simple_np_cc2650bp_uart_xpm_xsbl_2_02_01_18a_merge.hex

What are the difference between these and which one should I use?

Hi,

To start with, you should program "simple_np_cc2650bp_uart_pm_sbl_2_02_01_18a_merge" which is mentioned in the BLE Plugin User's Guide : dev.ti.com/.../

pm: power management
sbl: serial boot loader
The xpm meant no power management.

Hi,

We do support snp with SPI, however I believe that MSP432 does not support using SAP with SPI.

If you still want to use SPI on snp, you can first download our newest BLE-STACK-2-2-2 here : www.ti.com/.../BLE-STACK
Then in the project, just add NPI_USE_SPI into predefined symbols
