CC1352R: Looking for the HCI_EXT_ScanReqRptCmd command in the latest SDK3.1

Part Number: CC1352R

We used the HCI_EXT_ScanReqRptCmd(HCI_EXT_ENABLE_SCAN_REQUEST_REPORT) command in the 2640R2, but now i dont see it in the CC1352 BLE stack API. Has it been deprecated and automatically enabled when the opt feature is enabled ?

Can you pls point me to the documentation where it says no longer needed or included ?

Hi,

For CC1352 device you will get the same functionality in the gap_scanner module. You can read about how gap_scanner handles scan reports here: dev.ti.com/.../gap.html

Thanks but I dont see the equivocal functionality there.

This is a function on the peripheral or scanee side that detects what device has scanned the peripheral.

Can you pls check again ?

Sorry, I read your question too quickly.

You can get notified when a scan request is received if you set GAP_ADV_EVT_MASK_SCAN_REQ_NOTI in the GapAdv event mask. You should configure using the GapAdv_setEventMask(). You will get the event in the gap adv callback-function (e.g. SimplePeripheral_processAdvEvent() ).

Thanks I will take a look - pls dont close the e2e yet. I didn't see this mentioned in the migration docs - or did I miss it ?

Thanks, the events seem to work.

But when I interrogate the struct GapAdv_scanReqReceived_t, I dont get the get values expected. Is this the correct struct to get the scan report data from ?

Hi,

The report fields of the received adv report can be configured with GapScan_setParam() (SCAN_PARAM_RPT_FIELDS param). ( dev.ti.com/.../group___gap_scan___params.html )

Thanks. I tried - GapScan_setParam(SCAN_PARAM_RPT_FIELDS, SCAN_PARAM_DFLT_RPT_FIELDS);

Still doesnt provide what I expect to see. Seems it was much easier on the 2640R2.

Can you pls provide a complete example - since I just cannot move forward.

Hi,

GapScan_setParam(GapScan_ParamId_t paramId, void * pValue) takes a pointer. If you want to receive the default report fields, you can use the following:

uint16_t AdvReportFields = SCAN_PARAM_DFLT_RPT_FIELDS;
GapScan_setParam(SCAN_PARAM_RPT_FIELDS, &AdvReportFields);

BTW, the default report fields is set as follows, if you want to recieve other fields you would have to change your bitmask accordingly.

Thanks, I still dont have it working. Just to summarise what i have added. I get the event but just no sensible values.

Do you have a full working example please - just the simple_peripheral.c would suffice ?

When you receive the event, you will need to cast it to the relevant type:
