CC2541: CC2541 with CC debugger

Hi,

I'm new to CC2541 using IAR workbench and I want to control the LED like turn ON and OFF the LED using BLE terminal but I'm totally stuck how to work on it. I tested SimpleBLEPeripheral but doesn't help.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Yatin,

What do you mean with BLE terminal? You need to develop the code embedded and control it from there.

Hi J Lindh,

BLE terminal is an application where you can connect ble devices and send hex or ascii commands to control the device or any peripheral connected to that microcontroller.

Do you have any link or resource that I can follow to create that code to control the LED with CC2541.

Hi Yatin,

That is not the purpose of a Bluetooth low energy device, as it's application intends to run on the chip embedded. This is different from many Bluetooth Classic and WiFi chipsets, where it's common to interface as you enquire.

I suggest you review the users guide that comes with the SDK, www.ti.com/ble-stack

So,do I have to use Bluetooth classic instead of BLE to turn ON and OFF the led using CC2541?

Hi Yatin,

No, the CC2541 supports only Bluetooth low energy. You will have to develop code on the device to enable your use case. In the out of box examples, the LED can be toggled by using buttons on development boards.

You will need to review the documentation, SDK and understand the architecture of a wireless mcu.

Hi Joakim,

The thing is I have only CC2451 IC mounted on breadboard nothing else, if I have HM-10 module then I can simply connect it with Arduino or ESP and do whatever I want but creating eww files and integrating .h and .c files is making me trouble and not getting how to control it.
