CC2540: What is the lifecycle of this family of IC?

The only other discussion on this topic has a broken link as the answer, and the thread is six years old. How long before the CC2540 is no longer an active part?

    Hi John,

    We generally recommend migrating to CC2640R2 or CC2642 platforms. These are currently our focus platforms. Even though we do not release any new SW content to CC254x and the collateral is limited, we still have plenty of customers fond of the device. For simple use cases, it's a very attractive device because of its lower cost. As long as customers invest it that platform (regardless of our recommendation) we will continue to sell it and make maintenance releases if needed (i.e. our version 1.5.0 was primarily release with an updated qualification.)
