Hi,

I have just downloaded the new SDK 3.30 that I am using for RTLS system. A few questions, since online documentation is still not available:

Could the master act as passive now? It means both ToF and AoA feature.
I am launching "rtls_example_with_rtls_util.py" but there is no indication on how to install rtls libs. So, it is not able ti import RTLS utils. Could you please provide me the way to install packages? In the 3.20 version a requirements.dev.txt was present.

Further,

it seems it is working now. I solved so:

source file requirements.txt

construct==2.9.45
websockets==7.0
pyserial==3.4
windows-curses==1.0
PySide2==5.12.0

modified file requirements.txt

construct==2.9.45
websockets==7.0
pyserial==3.4
windows-curses==1.0
PySide2==5.12.0
./rtls
./unpi
./rtls_util

Then I added the requirements.dev.txt file with this text:

construct==2.9.45
websockets==7.0
pyserial==3.4
windows-curses==1.0
PySide2==5.12.0
-e ./rtls
-e ./unpi
-e ./rtls_util

Then, I followed procedure explained for 3.20 SDK.

Could you confirm me that modifications are right?

Further, the python rtls example is completely new. When I launch AoA it stops sending angle after some seconds, since a STOP command is invoked. How can I make it without stop? I am running it with a Master with Booster pack and a Slave.

Hi,

The Simple Link Academy will be available at the end of the month for the RTLS projects.

1- Yes, more or less. For AoA, the master is now able to perform the AoA measurements. For ToF, the master was already able to perform the ToF measurements. The point is, you don't necessarily require a passive device any more to run the RTLS examples.

2- You have a file named package.bat to set up your environment.

Should I just launch package.bat from promt shell?
What about the mode to have a continuous AoA receving packet?

1- Yes. You can also open it with any text editor to see its content.

It happens that automatically stops after 3 or 4 seconds. Please see capture attached:

Moreover, concerning package.bat, looking inside I followed this procedure:

package.bat -c (clean)

package.bat -b (build)

package.bat -i (install)

everything has gone well.

But when I activate virtual environment in simplelink rtls_agent path, I got the following error:

Where am I wrong?

Hi,

You are not supposed to use the virtual environment with SDK 3.30 (at least, when you run the script, you don't install the dependencies in your virtual environment). One solution is not using the virtual environment at all. Another solution is to run the .bat script in your virtual environment.

Hi Clement,

I solved following readme.md file and your suggestions, so no more problem with installtion. With no venv is a good imprevement!

However the number of AoA packet is limited, so as from previous screeshot something say to STOP to AoA. How could I solve it?

Hi Luca,

The expected behavior of the script is to record data during 5s then exit.

The script rtls_example_with_rtls_util.py can be modified in line 210 to have a different timeout:

        ## Sleep code to see in the screen receives data from devices
        timeout_sec = 10 #Select your timeout
        print("Going to sleep for {} sec".format(timeout_sec))
        timeout = time.time() + timeout_sec
        while timeout >= time.time():
            time.sleep(0.1)
