Part Number: DLPC3439
1)The system is dlp4710 + dlpc3439 + dlpa3005. When the LED is not connected, the test finds that the host_irq signal is always high. Other signals of test 3439 are normal. Is it related to the led not connected? Can the led not be connected be used normally? Test reset as high according to the time sequence?
2) After dlpa3005 is powered on, it is found that the power supply of DMD has no output. Do you need to configure any registers? Other small power supplies 1.1V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and other normal output.
3) Does dlpc3439 have startup mode selection? In a document, we found an ext? Boot? En, but we didn't find the hardware pin? Is it a register? Nor found
Hi User,Welcome to TI E2E Forums! Could you kindly let us know if you are using our TI EVM or custom HW designed by someone else? If you are using TI EVM, kindly let us know the model number of the TI EVM. Also, which FW version from TI.com are you using?
Thanks & Regards,
Thanks & Regards,Hirak.

In reply to Hirak Biswas:
For your 1st and 2nd question : LED must need to be connected, DLPA will enable DMD power turn on once all the connection detected (LED needs to be connected).
3rd query : Yes, You can update the batch file for selecting the startup mode. Default batch file is written for startup in splash mode.
what is batch file : batch file is nothing but set of some commands, which run at the end of system boot up process. This batch file run the commands to start the system with some system startup must required commands and some user specific required commands (though, user can do it by sending the commands manually after boot up as well, or using their front end MCU)
How you can update the batch fire : Get the GUI from here http://www.ti.com/tool/DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2. Then select the page firmware update in GUI. Check skip for all the options but batch file. create a new batch file with startup options and update the firmware with this new batchfile. Or let us know which startup mode you need, I will provide you the batch file for that in private message.
Now I use dlp4710evm-lc, which is designed by referring to the schematic diagram provided by Ti. Now GUI can identify each device model, but DMD does not display the example picture, and there is no response. The power supply and LS? CLK are normal,
Because no LED is needed in the application, the LED is terminated to form a circuit

You need to use the custom firmware for supporting your application (No LEDs) but in that case please specify which chipset are you using ?
In above post you mentioned you are using DLPC3439 + DLP4710 + DLPA3005 but this chipset is for display application which requires all LED's to be connected.
If your application is light control application then you need to use the DLPC3479 chipset, in this chipset we can provide you the custom firmware to disconnect the LED's.
Can other devices be used instead of LED? Is there any detection signal inside the circuit, such as common diode fm240? What is the detection signal?
Now DMD sets the test image through GUI, but there is no response
When DMD is not equipped with light machine, GUI test picture is used. Will it be displayed on DMD
Please first answer/confirm below queries:
1. Are you using DLPC3439 or DLPC3479 ? And which firmware are you using ?
DLPC3439 is for display chipset and we don't have provision to remove the LEDs in this chipset's firmware.
DLPC3479 is for Light Control and display chipset, this chipset's firmware allows to remove the LEDs. By default this firmware also required LED connected but we can provide the custom firmware with no LEDs.
2. What is the status of HOST_IRQ signal ?
At present, dlpc3439 is used, external LED has been connected, the host_irq is low, and there is no display in the test picture
The firmware version is provided for the official website
If everything looks normal and HOST_IRQ is low and you are not seeing any image then we need to look at your schematic, can you share your schematic.
One more query - In your design which DMD pin mapping option you have used ? Please refer datasheet for DMD pin mapping option details. For different pin mapping option different firmware is required.
