CC2642R: BLE 4.2 (with Voice) + RF4CE + OTA on CC2640R2 or CC2642R?

Part Number: CC2642R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2620, CC2650, , CC2640

Team,

I have seen that for RF4CE REMTI stack we list: CC253x and CC2620/CC2650.
http://www.ti.com/tool/REMOTI

Do we have plan to support RF4CE in some of our newer SoCs like CC2640R2 or CC2642R with our new BLE stack?
In this case the BLE/RF4CE protocols do not need to run simultaneously (ie  reboot one or the other stack) so CC2640R2 might be enough in term of flash size.

Or is it ok to start a new design with CC2650 for this use case?
Is OTA supported on CC2650 with the actual BLE stack and RF4CE stack?

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • Hi,

I cannot comment on TI roadmap on a public forum so I will ask you to reach out our marketing team to answer this type of question.

"OTA" (Over The Air) programming is rather called OAD on our documentation. And CC2650/CC2640 supports OAD. You can find documentation in your SDK in docs\CC2640 BLE OAD User's Guide.pdf.

    Kind regards,
