LPSTK-CC1352R: LPSTK-CC1352R

Part Number: LPSTK-CC1352R

Accelerometer on sensor stops functioning after a period of time have to reset the whole sensor. I would like to return and require a refund for sensor, taxes and shipping.

  • We do refunds on products where we can confirm that something has gone wrong during manufacturing of the kit.

From what you write it doesn't sound like  it's a production problem. Your post does not include information on which software you are running etc which would be required to pinpoint what is going on.

  • This occurs when I use the TI starter app on my phone so indeed it is a production problem. This is an out of the box issue I am not going to code or do anything further for an out of the box issue. Please provide return label to obtain refund. Thank you.

The LPSTK is a development tool and the out-of-box software is meant to showcase some of the possibilities to the chip used. Could you confirm that you are using  the latest version of the software?

What do you mean by " stop functioning", Note: Accelerometer coordinates are NOT sent periodically. They are only sent when a tilt is detected. It would be helpful if you provided the UART log (described here: http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AOIH63Cn648CXJqHALlJuw__pTTHBmu__LATEST)  to be able to see what happens before you see it stops sending data in the app.

  • I purchased this device to do continuous accelerometer monitoring, nowhere in the specifications was it specified that the sensor only functions with motion. As I moved the sensor to reset it given the non-detection of coordinate changes, it would not detect motion, It would stop recording altogether. Admin. I understand you are doing your due diligence but I am starting to get very frustrated at an issue that should have been solved 4 days ago. If you are not going to help me with returning this device, I need to talk with someone who can. I am not going out of my way and waste anymore time to get my money back.
  • Hello again,

Would you mind reading my previous post please, I want to finalize the process and return the equipment and obtain my refund. Thank you for your time.

  • See 8.3 in http://www.ti.com/legal/terms-of-sale/standard-evaluation-terms.html

It's not a policy to give refund on evaluation products.

  • As I said before. Accelerometer stops functioning after a period of time even as I move the sensor. This is a defect with the evaluation product that should be covered under the warranty. If you are telling me that TI can sell defective products and not provide refunds even covered under warranty?
  • "Accelerometer stops functioning after a period of time ": From your description this sounds like how the software is implemented and not a hardware bug. Since software can be updated it's not covered under warranty.

  • Hello again, I understand your due diligence and I respect it but it seems you are not understanding what I am saying. This is hardware said to function outside the box with TI's proprietary software. I reset the software several times and the accelerometer still did not work. I had to physically reset the sensor in order for it to work again. This is a hardware issue. Please help this is not my fault and I'm just trying to return faulty equipment and get a refund. I am not trying to take advantage of anyone.
  • Hello again,

Can you please see post above.

  • Since the sensor is working again after a reboot it's not a hardware issue.

This is a development tool that is made to develop new code. If you want a different functionality than provided by the out of box software you can write your own code.

I don't see an reason for refund in this case.

  • The sensor stops working again after a period of time and again I have to reboot, I should not have to reboot every time I need to record motion, that implies the accelerometer fails to function over a period of time. Your response was very unprofessional, "if our hardware doesn't work then it's your problem". Very disrespectful.
  • You are missing a point here: The behavior you are seeing is most likely caused by a software bug.

  • I am not missing anything this is the second time you have been unprofessional I just requested a return of an item that has a defective functionality out of the box and I want a refund for it.

If there is no acceleration or movement, at Simplelink Starter App the graph does not fluctuate obviously. Because it is recording constant data or the same data. But, it is still recording data.

  • It is not recording data even with motion. It stops recording data altogether.

Post a video showing the accelerometer sensor data at Simplelink Starter App, where you move the LPSTK-CC1352R, then stop, do it repeatedly. If your battery is low, some issues may occur, so make sure you use new batteries.

The LPSTK-CC1352R, is well packaged, I doubt it will have any hardware damage, when you first got it.

  • I already tried all these things from troubleshooting. I appreciate your involvement but it is not helping. It is not functioning adequately I need to return it.
