CC256x - Getting Started with Bluetooth

Greetings,

I'm currently undergoing a project where we plan to have bluetooth connection between an msp4305529 and an android device, However, it would be of great assistance if someone can help us get started. we ordered the cc256x module to integrate it with the msp4305529. I have read and researched the module and its connectors but I still have confusion of how to connect it to the launchpad (msp430). Also, what software will I need to utilize for this specific project? thank you very much in advance.

I am having the same problem. I connected the module through the UART and the I2C ports but I am not 100% sure on how to program the module itself. I have looked through the Bluetopia documentation but it still has not provided me with the appropriate information on how to use the MSP4305529 Launch pad with the module itself. To give you a little bit of information on what we are accomplishing I have provided a list below.

Features to be provided through Bluetooth:

• Send images to a smart phone (Android & IOS) = BIP profile
• Stream video to a smart phone device
• Battery indicator 

Where you able to find some sort of documentation on this?

Hi,

It is suggested to create a new thread with new questions on a different topic. 

Mind that the 5529 doesn't support any demo except SPPLEDemo_Lite because there is no terminal output. You will not be able to communicate with it using a terminal program. As the debug uart is shared with BT uart.

Are you saying that I will not be able to implement the BIP profile on the MSP430F5529 launch pad; because the Bluetopia documentation says it supports this profile (BIP)?

I am working on bluetooth video transmission as well and I am wonder if you have found out any documentation on video transfer and its limitations. Thanks.

Hi,
I used the stack from the company SEARAN http://searanllc.com/product/. Besides SPP profiles the stack have many other profiles. Easy to integrate and takes up less space in memory. I think it is worth to try.
