CC2640: cc2640

Part Number: CC2640

Dear team,

Customer has several questions about cc2640:

1. If CC2640 in slave mode, the power assumption is about 2mah, customer need the power assumption about 0.5mah, could you kindly help analysis?

2. How about the antenna gain with cc2640?

3. Do we have the case that both host mode and slave mode existed?

Could you kindly help answer the questions?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Sammi

  • Hi Sammi,

I will ask a concerned engineer to comment.

In the meantime, can you specify if you are referring to CC2640 or CC2640R2F?

    Best regards,

  • Hi Clement,

    It is CC2640R2F.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Sammi

  • Hi Sammi,

Thank you for the clarification on the device. To answer your questions:

    1. Please reference the Bluetooth Power Calculator (https://www.ti.com/tool/BT-POWER-CALC) to help with a power analysis for the CC2640R2. This extensive tool will allow for you to configure activities such as wake up, transmit, receive, and advertising interval for both a BLE peripheral and BLE central device. After configuring activities and settings for either the peripheral or central, calculations such as average current draw (uA) when advertising and expected battery life (hours or days) will be provided.
    2. I wanted to ask for clarification on if you are referring to the antenna gain or TX power setting? In the meantime this application note (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra161b/swra161b.pdf) that might be helpful in providing more information on antenna parameters, measurements, and reference designs.
    3. I wanted to ask for clarification on what you mean by a case host mode and slave mode exist. Are you referring to something similar to the multi-role example project where the project serves multiple simultaneous connection roles? This project is capable of functioning as a master and slave simultaneously.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards,

    Jenny
