Hello,

I am using BLE device monitor and CC2650 sensor tag for collecting movement data. If I decrease the sampling period for movement data, the magnetometer data freezes after a very less time although accelerometer and gyroscope keep working. This can be seen in the event log of the below screen shot. The last 6 bytes of movement data which correspond to magnetometer are frozen. The same problem is there in the android app also. Please give a solution for this problem.

Hello Vamsi,
I am not able to reproduce this issue. Have you upgraded to the latest sensortag firmware?
CC2650SensorTag_BLE_All_v1_10.hex
You can upgrade to the latest firmware by going to File->Program (OAD) and then choose the latest one mentioned above and press start (Don't use fast mode).

Yes. When I use the sensor tag with 1 sec sampling period, magnetometer works fine. But I want readings at 50 ms sampling period. I am getting gyroscope and accelerometer readings at 50ms but magnetometer readings get frozen.

Hello,
Currently the minimum allowed period is 100 ms. That is what i tested.

Even at 100 ms, magnetometer readings are getting freezed after a few seconds.

Hi,

I also seem to be getting some strange results. Not sure, sometimes it comes back to life, some times I have to pull the battery out!

Forgot to mention, this happens with both versions of the firm ware.

1.01 (March 2015) and 0.91 (Feb 2015)

Just an idea:
Could you try to disable all other sensor except for the magnetometer?
Have you tried with a fresh battery?

The Battery!

That seems to be the problem in my case!

I am now running over USB Debug DevPack and the sensors are working perfectly.

Eirik, Do you know how long the battery should also with all sesnors on, polling every second? I'll do some experiments myself, but I don't want to wait a few months to find out! LOL!

Sorry, we have not yet run such lifetime test on the SensorTag.

The same battery life problem here.

When I am running over USB Debug DevPack, the sensors including magnetometer seems working perfectly. But, starting with a new battery, it drains really fast and the voltage drops from over 3 Volts down to 2.8 Volts in several hours without USB Debug DevPac. The magnetometer reading stops changing in several hours while other sensors are working well still. I'm using BLE SensorTag app on android and the sensor period is 1 sec.

Hi Vamsi,
can you please tell me how can i do to see these data on the device monitor?

I am using BLE device monitor and cc2650 sensortag with the debug devpack. I compiled the HosttestTagApp project in my sensortag and i'm able to see the Bluetooth icon Host in the device monitor. But i wonder how can i also see the cc2650 sensorTag?

Hi Judith,

I did not compile the Hosttest project. I compiled the sensor tag project. And I did not do anything extra to connect with the device monitor. I just turned the sensor tag on and clicked scan. And I am able to see the sensortag under 'Host' icon as in the above picture.

thank you for your reply.

I just run the sensortag project without problem in my cc2650 device but i still not see change in the device monitor. i have the same issue ("failed to open COM3").

So i want to know please step by step what you have done before see data in device monitor. i also want to know if you have more than one sensortag devices.
