BLE packet sniffer start

I am just a beginner with the device. I have CC2541 Mini Development Kit and I am trying to start with the packet sniffer. I installed the driver for USB dongle and put the CC2541 Keyfob in advertising mode. I was wondering why I can not see any captured packet when I run the BLE packet sniffer. Also, I can not see any device name in the device list menu.

Do you download sniffer FW to your CC2540 USB dongle and plug it to your desktop when running TI Packet Sniffer?

Hi Chen

Even in the Flash Programmer it shows the debugger but the device name does not show up

You have to use CC Debugger to download prebuilt sniffer FW sniffer_fw_cc2540_usb.hex under C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Packet Sniffer\bin\general\firmware to your CC2540 USB dongle.
