I am using TI SimpleLink SensrTag Development Kit (with CC2650) combined with the SensorTag android application (v.5.4.0, build 47) to capture data in an automotive context. I need to be able to transfer the captured data via mobile networks. Whenever I start the app, I get the warning that I need to switch off mobile data. Is there any way to use the app with moble data active? How much data does the development kit generate with all sensors active?

Hi Eric,
I have not heard about that before. I'll reach out to the App developer to understand this further. Meanwhile, it would help if you could tell me which phone you are testing with and what android version.

Hi Eric !

I'm the app developer, the reason for this message is that when provisioning WiFi devices we need it not to switch to 4G when the provisioning is done.

If you do not use WiFi, just let mobile data be on so you can do your noggin properly, and select "Do not show again" and continue button when the screen turns up.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) with Android 9, kernel version 4.4.111.

That clarifies the issue. But maybe it could be a good idea to change the app message a bit to avoid confusion between use with bluetooth and use with wifi... :)

With regards to the traffic the SensorTag Development Kit generates; do you have a (ballpark) number on that?

Hi Eric,
Depends on how many sensors you enable. I suppose somewhere around 10-100 Byte/s with one sensor being enabled.
