CC2650MODA: Protection Bits Question

Part Number: CC2650MODA

Hi,

My question is in regard to the protection bits of the CC2650MODA. I amusing a gang programmer from Elprotonics. There is an attachment of mycurrent configuration. It seems to be the only configuration that allows meto program with the gang programmer as well as do an over the air flash later on. What do these bits actually do?

If Iuse the lock bits I can’t FOTA the devices. If Idon’t use the lock bits, the Bluetooth service doesn’t run again. This is keeping mefrom deploying their test fixture. Let me know what you think and if there is a workaround for this. Thanks for the help!

Best,

Adam

  • Hi,

In general I would not recommend write/erase-protection on flash which may contain application code.

Our default examples do not write/erase-protect any of the flash pages, and BLE should still function correctly.
I would recommend trying to flash the device with Flash Programmer 2: https://www.ti.com/tool/FLASH-PROGRAMMER
to see if the issue could be related to differences in flashing process.

I'll notify the BLE team for further insight.

    Regards,
    Toby
