CC2640: Another way to debug cc2640 not via JTAG connection

Part Number: CC2640

Hi Team,

I am posting this on behalf of our customer.

The customer would like to know another way to debug their system not via JTAG connection ( USB or micro USB for example).
Using FTDI chip or smth like that? its mean USB to JTAG connection?

Please let me know if you have other questions for the customer.

Thanks,

Jonathan

  • Jonathan,

If I understood correctly, your customer wants to use another physical interface and protocol to debug the device, right?

If so, the device has the serial ports that could be connected to a USB-to-serial converter as you mentioned, but the protocol that allows inspection of variables or flags must be entirely developed by the customer.

On the other hand, if debugging the BLE connection over the air is what they want, you can always use a protocol analyzer such as Ellisys

If they want to have a deep and thorough way to inspect the device's internals, there is no better interface other than JTAG.

    Regards,

    Rafael
