LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 PACKET-SNIFFER-2 proprietary channel advertisement

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1

Hi,

I have a LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 eval board with PACKET-SNIFFER-2_1.8.0.
We are using a proprietary system and I would like to monitor BLE advertisement packets on the custom channel. (e.g. on 2478MHz)
Is this possible somehow?

    Hi Szabolcs,

    The firmware provided won't allow you to do this.

    That being said,  you could modify the firmwae in order to allow this. You will find the sources in C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\SmartRF Packet Sniffer 2\sniffer_fw\source

    Last but nt least, keep in mind that the LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 will only manage to listen one channel at the time.

    Is this channel limitation implemented only in the FW part or in the PC application as well?

    Which development tool is needed for the FW modification?

    Hi,

    A part of the limitations might be in the PC application  - as far as I know we do not share the sources of the PC application.

    To answer your question, you will find the CCS and IAR projects allowing you to modify the FW.

    Make sure to review all the documentation and files we provide within PACKET-SNIFFER-2 (I have it installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\SmartRF Packet Sniffer 2)
