TRF7964A: TRF7964A SPI communication the SS control by Host COntroller Software, Do we need to connect the I/O_5 with Host controller

HI I have designed a TRF7964A board with Microchip host controller, TRF7964A communicates with the HOST controller over SPI with SS software control, In my design I have left the I/O 5 of the TRF7964A as NOT COnnected, my board is already fabricated, so I have a query do we need to connect the I/O_5 to the Host controller for SPI communication with SS.

Pls. help clarify

Hi Kanchan,

regarding the datasheet, the I/O_5 pin can be left open when using the SPI interface with SS. See Note 4 which states that I/O_5 is not needed in your configuration.

In my design the I/O 5 Pin is OPEN as recommended
