RF430FRL152H: about RF430FRL152H programming

Hi. all

In the past, I learned how to upload a program to RF430FRL152H.

I used TRF7970AEVM, and GUI using TRF7970EVM to interface to RF430FRL15xH.

by using GUI, in RF programming tab, I could easily upload the program.

but I don't know how the code works.

for uploading program to RF430FRL152H by using GUI, code should be .txt file.

I have .txt file that is worked well.

but that codes are for using ADC only.

in this time, I need to use I2C for commuication with digital sensor.

so question is, what should I do first for understanding codes?

and Is there any other ways to write codes by not using .txt file?

Code development can be done with CCS (Code Composer Studio, download: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/CCSTUDIO?keyMatch=CCS%20DOWNLOAD)

Then you can find available RF430FRL152H example firmware described in section 3.2 of the FAQ document: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sloa247.

The RF430FRL152H example firmware CCS projects can be downloaded here: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slac691

You can export your own developed firmware as a *.txt file of the same format, which you have displayed in the screenshots.

The code upload via RF requires the support of the existing firmware on the RF430FRL152H.

The RF upload might not work anymore if you replace the firmware on the device (interrupt vectors are critical).

The most flexible solution for RF430FRL152H code development would be the RF430FRL152HEVM (https://www.ti.com/tool/RF430FRL152HEVM) and the MCU programmer tool (https://www.ti.com/tool/MSP-FET).

This allows code upload and debug via JTAG interface.
