Kind regards,

Hi Gerald,
For Zigbee, this depends on whether the slave devices are sleepy Zigbee End Device (ZED) or Router (ZR) nodes. The Zigbee Coordinator (ZC) master device can broadcast a message simultaneously to all ZR devices, but must queue messages for sleepy ZEDs and wait until they poll for data. Currently, only five ZED messages can be queued in the ZC at any given time. Zigbee can support 250+ nodes in a mesh network.
I've looped in BLE experts to comment on the respective stack/protocol.

Ryan
Hi Ryan,
Thank you so much for your response and also for looping this thread to our BLE experts.
Kind regards,
Gerald
Hi Gerald,
Theoretically, you should be able to connect up to 32 devices at once. But, there will be limitations on this number depending on the timing requirements of all the connections, as well as memory requirements of your application. See the 32 connections section of the users guide for more info.
Best,
Nate
