CC1352R: 40MHz oscillator circuit

Part Number: CC1352R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1352P,

48MHz oscillator circuit of LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1 and LAUNCHXL-CC1352P-2 are different.

CC1352R has no capacitor, but CC1352P has 2 capacitors(C461,C471).

The PWB of LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1 has no land of C461 and C471.

Why does not have loading capacitors in LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1?

It is good for our design, if they are not neccesary .

  • Hi,

The CC13xx device family has internal load capacitors so the external load capacitors can be avoided. However, using the internal load capacitors might cause spurious that will affect regularly compliance to some standard as described in advisory Radio_01 in the device errata sheets. If you target to operate at 14 dBm, external load capacitors should only be needed to meet ARIB T-108. For 20 dBm operation, external load capacitors are required to meet most standards.
