Will there be any problem if I place the IC TRF7970A + MCU and surrounding components inside the coil on the PCB?

Do you estimate that RFID communication will not work at all, or only with reduced range? Our device is limited by a PCB diameter of about 25mm. The reading distance is only 0.5-1cm.

Hello Victor,

to be honest, I don't have any experience with this approach. I never have seen that anybody had tried it.

In best case the antenna tuning would not match anymore and re-tuning would be required. The GND plane would need to be minimized, which might also have an impact on performance. But my biggest concern is regarding feedback of the quite strong magnetic field to any sensitive component (such as inductors) or any other circuit section. You also should keep in mind to pass any emission testing.

I think it won't work.
