CC2662R-Q1: No communication between nodes

Hello,

Is it possible to establish a communication between two WBMS EVM nodes without supplying the 12V power? (battery monitor devices not powered)

I am trying to establish communication between a main node and a single wireless node - both are currently powered by the XDS110 Debug Probe with CCS in debug mode (no 12V supply is being provided)

The wmain and wdevice firmwares have been uploaded successfully to the MCUs as per the instructions from the wbms quick start guide in the SDK. However, when macStats expression is inspected, there is no data or communication between the two nodes.

Hi Toby

Basically when only power WBMS EVM with JTAG, only CC2662 is working. There are some questions for you to check:

1. It looks like there are only 1 wmain and 1 wdevice in your network, right? Have you modify the network size accordingly?

2. How do you determine there is no data or communication between the two nodes? If by macStats, you should make sure that THRUPUT_TEST is defined in project Predefined Symbols.

Hi Barbara,

Thank you for your response, I have done both of the steps you have provided but I'm still seeing no data transfer on MacStats.

Both boards have their LED illuminated when in debug mode so I believe they are being powered correctly.

However, I do not have the backchannel UART plugged in - is this required?

I would appreciate any help, or more insight you can give in addition to the user guide in the SDK.

Which project are you running? If you are using the one with diag, UART should be one of the output.

I'm running the wmain project to view MacStats. (not wmain-diag), The wmain and wdevice programs have been programmed onto the respecitve boards.

Do you power on the wdevice first then wmain device? Can you please try to run wdevice first, then start wmain device debugging?
