CC2571: gamma ray sterilization CC2571RHAR

Part Number: CC2571

Hi Team,

Good day!

Customer  want to use this part in a device that would go thru a gamma ray sterilization process. It will be unpowered at the time.  KIndly confirm if this will not damage the part?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Jonathan,

The CC2571 is not designed or specified as a rad hard device. Performance degradation for an IC due to ionizing radiation is dependent on the total ionizing dose (TID). This dosing is cumulative. Since this device hasn't been characterized for radiation performance we can't provide a specification on a TID limit. However, I would think it's extremely unlikely that sterilization events would lead to an immediate failure, but performance or reliability could decline. The customer should evaluate their system to determine if it would meet the lifetime and reliability requirements they have.

    Thanks,

    Jake
