CC2500: [Customer support] CC2500 micropower wireless test

Part Number: CC2500

Our customer GREE is going to send the CC2500 board to detection organization in China. They used seven CC2500 boards to do the micropower wireless test and there is one board whose spurious performance failed the test. The spurious value of 208MHZ is -52.74 dBm, and the standard requirement is ≤-54dBm. Other boards also have low spurious tolerance. The waveform of the failed board is as the first picture. The detection mode is peak. The parameters are as second picture. The layout is as the third picture.

  • Hi Skylar,

How did the customer determine the source of the 208MHz spurious emission was the CC2500? Does the output follow the state of the device? What other devices are located on the board? 208MHz is a harmonic of the 26MHz crystal, have they evaluated the layout around the crystal oscillator? What other debug steps have taken place?

    Thanks,

    Jake
