RI-TRP-DR2B: Our problem as below

Hi team,

My customer need assistance.

Use portable reader, to read 20pcs TI RFID, before/after overwriting, 20pcs RFID show same ID#, it seems overwriting failed, but PC reader is different. We are confused.

  

Below are detailed test.

We took 20pcs RFID from below lot.

 

1, use portable reader, to read 20pcs TI RFID, before/after overwriting, 20pcs RFID show same ID# as below.

 

2, Use PC read/write system, before overwrite, reading ID# of 20pcs RFID are same, as below:

 

 

3, Use PC read/write system, after overwrite, 20pcs RFID, ID# are different per different writing content, as below:

 

Could you help look into it? Thank you for your help.

    it seems that the is not enough RF energy for writing the transponder. Also the response seems to be missing. Please make sure the reader has proper coupling and please wait for the response to finish.

    I got the response from customer:

    Not understand.

    We can write content into RFID, it means the system have the proper coupling and RFID already finished response.

    I have some questions for further analysis.

    1. Which page were tried to access? (The pages on this multi-page transponder needs to get accessed individually. See users guide.)
    2. Does the portable reader follow the the specified frame format?
    3. Does the customer use a TI reader (for example MRD2EVM) on the PC?
    4. Is this issue only present on 20pcs out of a bigger quantity of RI-TRP-DR2B? If so, what is the percentage of fail devices?

    We use the reader on the PC, please refer to attachment.

    For TI RFID, please help to clarify :

    1, whether we must TI reader or TI authorization reader?

    2, no matter which readers we use to read,20pcs RFID the content are same, it is normal?

    3, portable reader and PC reader, the read content are different, it is normal?

    4, whether TI assigned unique ID(or content) for every RFID before shipping? Because we saw all RFID content are same, not matter readers we use.

    here are my answers to your questions:

    1. The RI-TRP-DR2B is using a TI communication protocol. So it would be easiest to use a TI reader. But ti is also possible to build customized readers for the RI-TRP-DR2B, as long as it follows the protocol. The details are documented in the users guide.

    2. Yes, all RI-TRP-DR2B have the same content after manufacturing.

    3. It depends on the reader. If both readers are following the TI protocol, then still the memory organization might be different. The details are documented in the users guide.

    4. No, there is no TI assigned unique ID pre-programmed before shipping.
