Hello Chris,
RI-SMD-MRD2 is delivered by TI as a component to be assembled into end-use systems. As a result, CE compliance is not applicable. TI provides the material content compliance data required to document the RoHS requirement of CE compliance are met as part of the customer’s finished product.
Best regards,
Andreas.
Hello Andreas
I understand from your response that this evaluation board is not CE-marked. Is that correct?
Also, based on your response, am i right to understand that this means the board is not destined for individuals/consumers, but only for OEMs?
I think this is also what is implied in the T.I doc, weblink: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/scbu050a/scbu050a.pdf?ts=1686571312005&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Ftool%252FRI-SMD-MRD2%253FkeyMatch%253D%2526tisearch%253Dsearch-everything%2526usecase%253Dhardware
-->Can you please check and advise i understand correctly?
If not, i.e. if the product is meant to be also suitable for consumers, I would need T.I will explain how CE is not required, under the ROHS directive 2011/76//EU, that exempts the EEE destined for R&D to be used in an R&D facility, so long as they are sold only on a business-to-business basis.
All the other Evaluation boards I have come across with T.E are CE marked -... (with CE/EU Declaration of Conformity) Examples: ADS58J64EVM, LAUNCHXL-CC13-90EU ; and CC1175EMK-868-915, which are all Sub-GHz Development Tools and all CE marked, and with CE/EU Declarations of Conformity.
Thank you in advance for your further clarification.
Chris,
the RI-SMD-MRD2 is not destined for individuals/consumers. It is a generic component.
It has no CE label.
The RI-SMD-MRD2 and RI_STU-MRD2 are almost the same components, only the contacts are different.
The MRD2EVM is using the RI_STU-MRD2 component.
(See a related E2E thread).
The MRD2EVM has a CE label and its DoC can be downloaded from the technical documentation section of the product webpage.
I'm not aware of any other TI boards that are using the RI-SMD-MRD2.
Best regards,
Andreas.
