CC2590: what exactly is the benefit of using a range extender in junction with the CC2640

As I understand the max output power is 10mW for BT and I thought that this is provided by the CC2640. I am curious as it is quite an investment in a mass product.

    Hi Ralph,

    Bluetooth 5 supports up to +20dBm, The CC2640 by itself has a maximum output power of +5dBm. Depending on the locality the regulations will vary for what the maximum output power can be used and under what conditions.
