Tool/software:

We have line of products in production using legacy CC2420 and CC2530.

We need to do system level radio and EMC regulation and certification test (again).

For this task we need direct control of the modules: selecting the channel, control the Tx power and transmitted CW signal.

Can you advise the best and easy practical way to do this?

Hello Shachar,

The SmartRF Studio 7 application supports the CC2420 and CC2530 devices and allows you to control various aspects of the radio (TX power, channel, etc).

Hi Alex,

Thank you, forward question

With what HW should I use to connect between our embedded board with the CC's SoM ICs and the printed PCB antenna to the PC SmartRF Studio,

I noticed the EVM / Expansion board is hard to get.

Can it be simple connected via USB to SPI FTDI or similar cable/ adaptor?

Hello Shachar Armon,

If you have the dongle (USB) version of the device you can use the CC Debugger (CC-DEBUGGER Debug probe | TI.com) probe with the device (*both CC Debugger and CC2530 dongle should be plugged into your computer) and SmartRF Studio should be able to detect the device.
