TMS3705: What is the MIN and MAX of the fosc frequency?

Expert 2005 points
Part Number: TMS3705

Tool/software:

Hi All,

We are considering the CSTCR4M00G55B-R0 as a clock source for the TMS3705FDRQ1.

We are trying to check whether the frequency deviation of the ‘CSTCR4M00G55B-R0’ is a problem for the ‘TMS3705FDRQ1’ for adoption.

However, the fosc frequency is only listed as 4 MHz (NOM).
Therefore, please tell me the MIN and MAX.

Best Regards,

Ito

  • Ito,

The allowable frequency deviation of the TMS3705-Q1 device will depend on the receiving device it will communicate with. Typically the receiving device will have a min and max allowable frequency it can receive. This will dictate the 4MHz variation allowed on the TMS3705-Q1 device side for proper operation.

The resulting output frequency of the TMS3705-Q1 can be calculated by taking the measured 4MHz clock input, multiply it by 2, and then divide it by 119 to get the resulting LF frequency.

    Regards,

    Andrew
