Wireless audio device

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1125, CC1121, TMDX5515EZDSP, CC1120

Hi all,

I need to develop a device to transfer audio data from two points 100 meters apart each other.

Audio data have a bitrate of 64kbps (compressed by opus codec).

Except for 2.4GHz and 868/915MHz, I can use all other frequency bands (170MHz, 315MHz and 433MHz).

Which device, and what frequency band do you recommend?

Can CC1125 be used for this purpose?

Thank you

  • I would look more to CC1121 since you don't need the narrow channels CC1125 provides.

In the 433MHz the output power you can use is limited so dependent on the environment the range could be a problem. The choice of frequency band is also dependent on the region you want to operate in.

  • Thank you TER.

    I have another question.

Is TMDX5515EZDSP Chipcon expansion connector compatible with CC1121/CC1125?

    Thanks

  • As long as the signals required (power, SPI, GPIOs etc) are available on the EM connector and have the same pinout as on the CC1120 EM you should be able to use CC1120 with the DSP board. Also note that you probably have to develop software supporting from scratch for CC1120 for this board since the LPRF group only makes examples for the TRxEB.
