CC2500 and CC2550 communication

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1101, CC1150, CC2550, CC2500, CC-DEBUGGER

Hi All,

I have an existing product that utilizes the cc1101 and cc1150  ICs for 915MHz communication.  I need to move to the 2.4GHz spectrum so I am currently using the c2500 and cC2550.

I am having some difficulty enabling communication between between the two ICs.  I have two development boards and I have been able to get the cc2550 to communicate with the cc2500.  When I use the same configuration settings on my own PCBs it does not work.  I have verified that my cc2550 is sending something out because I can see RSSI spikes (when in the Continuous RX mode in SmartRF Studio) and using the same registers setting that I had in the cc2550 dev board.  But when I use the Packet RX tab I get nothing.

Originally I was expecting to be able to use the same register settings that I used in the cc1101 and cc1150 (only modify the base frequency) but that did not work so I moved to the development board.

Are there any other differences between the cc1101/cc1150 and the cc2500/cc2550 that I am not aware of?

Thanks,

Jason
