CC2544: Frequency hop?

Hi team,

We had a customer request if the CC2544 is considered spread spectrum? Does it hop frequency if interfered with (reluctant hop) or is it like a WiFi that does not change frequency?

Hi,

Yes, it can be used in Freq hopping application. Please note that the minimum frequency step size is 1MHz.

The customer was wanting to use this as both as a frequency hopper or as a non-hopping device.

As a frequency hopper, it is spread spectrum by definition.

-As a non-hopping device, is it still considered spread spectrum?

It is being asked to ensure the correct european standard EN 300 328 or EN 300 440.

-Lastly do we have any software references or documentation on this topic that would be helpful?

If it is Non-Hopping device, it will be considered as DSSS
