We are looking for the NFC flat form for one of the applications and it similar to TI Battery-less NFC/RFID Temperature Sensing Patch.

I got this Eval board patch for exploring myself to get more familiar but I don’t know how to use this and what else required to program the device to read the temperature from the patch and I am confused as it’s not clear in the TI website.

Also how to test with any phone /reader?

Hello Laura,

This app note may be able to provide some insights about how to use it and read data from the patch: www.ti.com/.../sloa233.pdf

The firmware offered with that app note needs this hardware to read the tag: store.ti.com/msp-exp430fr4133.aspx and store.ti.com/dlp-7970abp.aspx

For testing with a phone, you'd need to have an Android phone and install the app we have: e2e.ti.com/.../411551

There is nothing to program on the device to read the temperature, so you just need the right reader setup.

Follow up question from the customer:

I need one more help how to program the Smart patch with the Suitable eval kits for effective testing.

I need the exact Eval kit to buy, to program the Sensor patch and I need your guidance on that.

Hello Laura,

If there is desire to further evaluate the RF430FRL152H, the customer should probably purchase the RF430FRL152HEVM and an MSP-FET. The Temperature Patch can be programmed but it would likely be more beneficial for the customer to evaluate the device with the EVM as then they can leverage the EVM's GUI which gives a lot of control of all aspects of the device.
