RF430CL330H: How to test the RF430CL330H EVM without an NFC-enabled phone

I have a RF430CL330H EVM running with the G2553 Launchpad, but don't know how to test this without an-NFC enabled phone. Can I use another CL330H EVM? A static tag? If so, where can I get one?

My goal is to read data from a tag or a phone via the EVM.

You would need an NFC reader device to test the tag.

The RF430CL330H can read and write, correct? Why can't I use this instead of the TRF7970? What's the difference in the two devices?

Hello Hendrix,

The RF430CL330H is a dynamic NFC transponder. It cannot create an RF field to communicate with other device. It communicates only by load modulating an RF field that is presented to it. Therefore can only be read and written by an NFC Reader device which can generate an RF field like the TRF7970A.

The TRF7970A is a full NFC transceiver capable of outputting an RF field to be a Reader/Writer or Peer-to-Peer 'initiator' device, but also can be configured as a 'target' device for Peer-to-Peer and Card Emulation where it does not provide an RF field and can be read/written by other devices which provide an RF field.
