RTOS/CC1350: CC1350 lowest peak power consumption for intermittent packet transmission

I'm trying to get the peak power consumption of the CC1350 down as low as possible to maximise coin cell battery life whilst taking intermittent measurements. What are some ways to do this? Currently thinking using a low bitrate (and so the lowest possible TX power) and delaying transmission so it occurs when the main CPU is powered down, but are there any more tricks? Just looking to send a few bytes at a time.

The operating system (TIRTOS) will automatically handle the power scheme, there should be no need for you to do anything. However to obtain the lowest overall power I will recommend to go as fast as possible in the data rate. The reason is that our device peak current is completely independent on data rate and as such it better to go fast.

So overall, set the device to 0dBm transmit power and select the highest data rate you can and still get acceptable link budget. This will provide you with the lowest overall power budget.

thanks for your answer. We're currently using some cc1350 sensortags as testbeds, is it similar enough to the Launchpad to use that as the RF design in SmartRF studio?
