SMARTRFTRXEBK: TRXEB USB interface dies

This is the second Eval board that dies over night. I am running a repeated PER test for CC1200 using the Perl APIs provided with this board and after a few hours the board loses its USB connection and never come back. I checked the power voltages all correct. At this condition the USB LED, D6 is also off.

Any suggestion to figure out what's wrong?

MMi,

To me it sounds like a power issue. Can you make sure that your USB hub has enough power to support the TRXEB? try a different PC?

TA,

I checked the power it seems correct. The hub is a powered hub with 1A current support which I believe this board doesn't need more than 100mA. I also bypassed the hub and connect it directly to the PC, still the same. The boards won't show any sign of life even if I change the S1 to UART the internal LCD won't turn on.
Confusing!

All MCU, IO and RF jumpers have 3.3V, I compare to a good board that I have and the current matches except the IO current in bad board is a couple mA lower which makes sense since the D6 LED is off in the bad boards.

MMi,

We have also seen some of the board where the three switches become bad, can you toggle them back and forth a little to see if they seem to be "loose"

TA,

I just found the solution but still don't know the reason. I need to do the recovery (shorting the recovery test points while booting) and then my USB come back alive again. Does it ring a bell that what can cause this problem?

MMi,

We do experience some boards that needs to be "reprogrammed" like a factory reset, we have added a section in the user guide of the cc-debugger that shows how to do this re-flash process.
