5v tolerant port in cc2531

dear TI,

we at sumona consulting are developing a zig bee based USB dongle with battery backup.the battery charger ic selected is bq24026.the interface controller is cc2531zig bee SOC with 3.3V vcc.my query is what is the volatge level of the STAT1 and STAT2 pins.can we directly interface these pins to a 3.3v controller.is there any 5v tolerant port in cc2531.

I do not believe there are any 5V tolerant ports. I suggest a voltage divider.

Not sure what you mean about STAT1 and STAT2 pins.

The CC2531 does not have 5V tolerant ports (cf. section on absolute maximum ratings in the CC2531 data sheet).

Since the STAT1 and STAT2 outputs on bq24026 are open drain, it should not be a problem to connect them to the CC2531 operating at e.g. 3.3V. But that's where my knowledge about the battery charger stops... Please refer to the thread below (and associated forum) for the bq24026 part.
