RTOS/CC2650EM-4XS-RD: Problems in integrating CC2650 based unit with Atmega 256RFR2

Part Number: CC2650EM-4XS-RD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello Experts,

I am currently working on TIMAC - Power management module for cc2650

IAR Workbench version - 7.40.2.8570, TIMAC - 1.5.2, TIRTOS - 2.11.01.09(For SimpleLink Wireless cc 26xx MCUs this is the latest version).

I have a requirement to make my device (based on CC2650) to communicate with a coordinator (based on Atmega 256RFR2) using 802.15.4, they communicate seamlessly if the security is not enabled. Once the security is enabled they just don't communicate, both the targets applications are the using the same 128 bit AES key.

Is there anything that needs to be modified to make both the systems communicate with security.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

  • HEllo Naveen,

Do you have more information on this?
Do the devices attempt to connect and fail at some point?
    Do they ignore each other?

Do you have a packet sniffer log? (You can use our packet sniffer 2, it is a software image that you flash on our devices and you can use with wire shark to sniff out packets) You can download it here: www.ti.com/.../PACKET-SNIFFER

  • Hello AB,

    Thanks for your response.

The devices gets associated successfully, they fail to exchange the data.

When observed on the packet sniffer, there is an acknowledgment for every data packet but the data is not decrypted and handed over to application.

i.e I do not receive MAC_MCPS_DATA_IND message to notify the arrival of data.

    Best regards

  • Hello Naveen,

If using beacon mode, are you successfully receiving beacons?
What are the contents of the data?
When you send the same data unsecured does it work? can you show me how it looks on the packet sniffer with/without security?

    Regards,
    AB
