Hi,

I have a custom board based on MSP430F2370 and TRF7970A. I'm modifying the www.ti.com/.../sloc297 code which is for MSP430G2553 to work with MSP430F2370.

Want to know if I have to take care of anything in particular while porting code ?

Hello Madhusudhan,

I am not aware of anything special.

Both have the same clocking system and SPI module. The Port registers are little different because of the missing PxSEL2.

But I think it should be no big problem to port the code.

Hi Helfried,

In my design I connected SYS_CLK of TRF7970A to XIN of MSP430F2370. The present code is using DCO set to 8MHz, for my design i think i have to re-initialize the clock settings once the TRF enable pin is turned high. I'm new to MSP's and not sure how to do, pls help me on this. Also should I have to make any changes to the VLO related code ?

Hello Madhusudhan,

is there a special reason why you want to use the SYS_CLK as the processor clock?

For this code example it is not necessary and there is no benefit in doing so.

Hi Helfried,

There is no special reason for that, we followed one reference design in which it is being done like that. If I ignore that and use the same code which uses DCO is there any issue ? Any advantage if I use an external clock ?
