CC8531: CC8531 Host Control mdo (1 master - 4 slave)

Part Number: CC8531
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3101

Hi

My customer is developing CC8531 (1 master, Analog mic 2ch, codec = TLV320AIC3101), CC8531 (4 slave, Codec = Codec = TLV320AIC3101).

Master input is Mic input, Slave's final output is speakers. And "Operation" setting is using "Host Control" mode.

When testing with Purepath wireless configure tooldmf on the customer's board, I can't hear the sound on the speaker side,

but when I set the "Operation" setting to "Autonomous" on the EVM and tested it, I confirmed that the sound is output normally.

If you use "Host Control" mode, is there a problem with the audio output with the original 1 master-4 slave settings, or are there any points to be carefully set or checked in the EHIF settings?

Please advise you.

Thank you

Best Regards,

From Anthony

  • Hi Anthony,

Are you able to run the customer's boards in Autonomous mode?

Are they running in Host Control mode on both master and slaves? Are they able to successfully join a audio network on the slaves (EHIF coomand NWM_DO_JOIN)?

    Best Regards,

    R.M

  • Hi Anthony,

When in "Host Control" mode, the host is responsible for enabling/disabling the network as well as handling pairing signaling etc. The host is also responsible for setting up and controlling any external audio circuits such as codecs.

In your test, do you have an actual host implemented that take care of all of this? It sort of sounds like You simply switch the mode in the configurator and expects it to work out of the box?
