CCS/CC2650EM-7ID-RD: Proprietary RF

As for now, I don't have CC2640R2F boards to start developing.

I successfully tested the examples rfPacketRx_CC2650DK_7ID_TI and rfPacketTx_CC2650DK_7ID_TI downloaded from the TI-RTOS 2.21.

Subsequently, I modified the datarate (1.3 Mb/s) and frequency deviation (442 kHz) in smartrf_settings.c as follows

.modulation.deviation = 0x6E9,
.symbolRate.preScale = 0x6,
.symbolRate.rateWord = 0x53333,
.rxBw = 0x0F,

Unfortunately, this configuration does not work anymore; LED1 on RX board does not blink.

I observed that the settings were generated using SmartRF studio 2.3.

The proprietary mode is not available anymore for CC2650 in latest SmartRF studio version.

How can I properly set the new datarate?

Is 1.3 Mbps your wanted datarate? 

The CMD_PROP commands only support a datarate up to ~ 1.3 Mbps. Above this you have to use the HS commands but we have limited support for datarates above 500 kbps. 

I will probably get a couple of LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2 dev kit.

Are the HS commands needed for the CC2640R2F too?

Can I directly use the settings generated by SmartRF studio?

As of today we don't have any official high speed settings for non of the chip sets. 

Could you outline why the very high datarate is needed? I got a mail from the FAE abou the usecase and I'm not aware of the high rate demand. 

I only need 1.3 Mb/s.

I tested two LAUNCHXL-CC2649R2 boards using SmartRF Studio.

I was only able to get a reliable communication up to 500 kbps.

Packet error rate starts increasing by increasing the datarate. (frequency deviation and RX filter bandwidth adjusted accordingly)

No communication at 1.3 Mb/s.

CC2640R2F will not be able to support 1.3 Mbps since the HS phy only support some datarates and 1.3 Mbps is not one of them. Internal discussions are ongoing if CC2642R can support 1.3 Mbps and if that is the case, how.
