RF-HDT-DVBE: Maximum distance from the reader

Hi Team,

A customer wants to attach the RF-HDT-DVBE or RF-HDT-DVBB at the back of a mobile phone. A reader will be place beside a door. The maximum distance between the door and mobile phone would be 1m. Do we have a reader that is capable of reading the RF-HDT-DVBE or RF-HDT-DVBB at 1m distance even if the phone is being held or inside the pocket of the person walking near the reader?

    Hello Danilo,

    for the 13.56MHz RF tags we only have the TRF79xx series of reader ICs and the EVMs for this product. RF reader as a product are not available from TI.

    A reading distance of one meter would require a high power reader and big antenna. A problem with the smartphone could be that most smartphone have build in NFC capability and start reading an attached tag.
