CC8531: Can't control the mic volume on PC(Window).

Part Number: CC8531

HI TI experts,

My customer configured the Headphone application by applying CC8531.

When USB dongle is connected to PC, it recognizes the device. However, in Window Device Manager->MIC properties, the volume of MIC is fixed to 100.

Can't control the MIC volume in Windows?

Please check it..

Thanks,

Downey Kim.

  • Downey,

Is the design based on the Wirelss USB Headset example in the PurePath Wireless Configurator? If not, please share how volume control for the Master and Slave is configured in PPW.

    Regards,

    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

As a result of their tests, there are PCs that can control MIC volume and PCs that cannot.

All test PC's OS is Windows 10. This may not be a problem with the CC8531 setup.

But I would appreciate it if you could review it.

  • Downey,

If it works on some computers but not others, that sounds like it could be a Windows issue.

I looked at the .ppwcfg files you shared. I'm a bit confused - the file "cc85xxdk_headset_demo_analog_output_bi_directional_slave_rvol.ppwcfg" is actually configured as a master but with no USB. The file "cc85xxdk_headset_demo_usb_bi_directional_master.ppwcfg" looks to be configured as a slave.

I would recommend taking one of the examples such as Wireless USB Headset and see if that works with your setup. Then make modifications as needed to that example project.

    Regards,

    Daniel
