TRF7970A: set the reader to a simple carrier 13.56 MHz

Is this for certification testing? If so, just setting the RF field output to on (Bit 5 in Register 0x00) along with setting the output to be OOK (ASK 100%) such as configuring the device for ISO14443A or ISO1593 will do what you need.

Those are settings used by TI when we re-tested the devices vs the latest euro standards including RED.

Those register settings are sent over SPI to the TRF7970A.

If you are using the TRF7970AEVM, then use the GUI and Registers tab to write the registers as desired. Chip Status Control is 0x00 and Modulator Control is Register 0x09 and has the ASK/OOK settings. You can find the details for the Modulator Control register on Page 64 of the device datasheet.

It may be possible but we have never done this and have no collateral for that. As the TRF7970AEVM has been EOL'd as an eval platform, we will not be able to offer any support for such an activity.

If you want a GUI, you will want the full NFC solution, if you don't need that, then just the RFID reader solution should be a sufficient replacement but it does not have a GUI.
