TMS37F158: update or alternative

Hello team,

a few years ago one of my customers was thinking of using the TMS37F158LG for an underwater communication and only now they are getting this project going again.

Do you have any suggestion on a newer part number that could replace the 37F158LG? An EVM? They used to have an old EVM but are wondering now if there is a new version or not.

Regarding the 37F158LG, do you plan any NRND or even to obsolete the device?

Any suggestion would help.

Just to add to my question, the TMS37F158LG is used in combination with the RI-ACC-ADR2-10; also for this one, do we have any updates? Or do you recommend going ahead with this setup without any mods?

Hello Adrian,

That device is really intended to be an automotive device, so newer devices/EVMs etc would not be made available for such an application. They may want to consider looking into our catalog LF transponder the TMS37157 though. That could be a better suited option for them.

As far as NRND/obsoleting the device, there are not any plans to do so.

do we have an EVM available to test the TMS37157? To me it seems that nothing is available but how can the customer test it?

Unfortunately we do not have an EVM available for that device anymore, but we still offer the gerber files for the EVM via this document: www.ti.com/.../swra309a.pdf
