WL18XXCOM82SDMMC: WL18XXCOM82SDMMC - Switch enable control

Part Number: WL18XXCOM82SDMMC

Hi everyone,

What is the role of the push buttons on the WL18XXCOM82SDMMC board ?
The datasheet indicates that it's the enable control but under which conditions we need to use them ?

In which situations should we use the BT_EN and WL_EN jumper ?
Thank you for your answers.

Regards,

Dayan LOMBARDI

  • Hi Dayan,

If you look at the WL18xx datasheet, there are timing restrictions for enabling and disabling the Wifi and BT controllers with respect to the power supplies.  Most people use the adapter board to plug into another host processor board that doesn't have a native COM8 connector, similar to the figure 10 or 12 in the user's guide:

The jumper settings (section 3.1.1) simply dictate whether you will use the push button or host to control the WL_EN and BT_EN signals.

    Regards,
